Time Search is a site for searching for events on a timeline. This is a great site for history teachers/students looking to find events on a specific time. A user can search not only by entering a date but they can search through images and areas as well. Time Search brings up a list of events in chronological order and images as well.
History in Motion
is a promising service that allows teachers and students to build
multimedia history stories. On History in Motion you can build animated
timelines that can move in conjunction with movements on a map. At each
stop along your timeline and map you can include descriptions of events,
display images, and display videos.
HSTRY is a multimedia timeline creation tool that will work on your laptop, Chromebook, iPad, or tablet. With a HSTRY account you can build timelines in a vertical scroll format similar to that of a Facebook feed. To start the process pick a topic and upload a cover photo. To add events to the timeline just click the "+" symbol and select the type of media that you want to add to your timeline. You can add videos, images, audio, and text to the events on your timeline.

Tiki-toki - simple to use multimedia timeline. TikiToki now supports 3D timelines which means that you can both create and view timelines in 3D. To activate the 3d view for your timeline, open the timeline for editing. Then choose the 'Settings' tab in the admin panel, and click on the '3d settings' button at the top centre.

myHistro is a timeline builder and map creation tool rolled into one nice package. On myHistro you can build a personal timeline or build a timeline about a theme or event in history. Each event that you place on your timeline can be geolocated using Google Maps. myHistro timelines can be created online or you can use the free iPad app to create events on your timeline. When you first sign into myHistro you will be shown a screen for creating your first event. An event is a stand-alone item. If you want to create a timeline you need to click on your account dashboard then select "stories" to create a story. "Story" is myHistro's name for timelines. Create a story then add events to your story. Each event can include videos, images, text and be geolocated on a map.
Dandelife is a place for you to record the events of your life, past and present, public and private. Have you photos and videos online in different places? Dandelife is a mash-up that allows you to share media on a timeline and can be quite useful in the classroom.

Weaving History is a promising website for history students and teachers. The purpose of Weaving History is to enable users to create timelines matched to maps.
Mnemograph Interactive timeline application. You can "grab" the timeline and drag it left and right, and zoom in and out to view centuries at a time or just hours. Mnemograph allows you to create event-spans so that you can see durations and how they overlap. Being web-based, Mnemograph lets you collaborate and share easily.
Timeline Students can generate descriptive timelines that can be plotted with their choice of units of measure (date, time, event, entry, or other). Entries on the timeline automatically become links that allow students to easily navigate from one point on the timeline to another.
Verite Timeline is an open source project that allows you to add multimedia timelines to your website. I want to point out that making this work on your own website will require you to access and alter the HTML of your site. If you're not comfortable doing that, you might want to skip this option You can create and install timelines on your site in two different ways. First, you can draw up your timeline using this Google Docs template then adding that completed template to the Verite Timeline code. Alternatively, you can create your timeline in JSON format then adding that code to the Verite Timeline code that you add your site.

Circavie This online tool allows you to create an interactive multimedia timeline on a topic of your choice. You are able to use pictures, videos, or text to mark an event. Video and audio files hosted elsewhere (podcasts, TeacherTube videos, etc) can be included in your timelines. Pictures can be included by upload or by URL.
